International Academy's Grade 9 and 10 curriculum follows the globally-recognized standards set by the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) board. IGCSE is a balanced curriculum that offers an international perspective to studies and students will have the opportunity to sit for the prestigious Cambridge International Examinations at the end of Grade 10. It is also an excellent foundation for students planning on studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or A-level Programme.
We offer our students a modern curriculum in five core subject groups:
In addition to following courses from the above five core subject groups, students will also be expected to attend weekly athletics programs, life skills lectures, teacher advisory sessions, and evening study hall. Moreover, students will be encouraged to participate in leadership opportunities at the Academy, volunteer in the local community, and invest their free time in various school clubs including school newspaper, drama club, and Model UN, just to name a few.
Students learn to read effectively, write cogently, employ creative thinking, and analyze complex issues with a critical eye. Learning extends outside the classroom; sports and after-school activities also play an important role in the curriculum to form well-rounded students and prepare them for future success in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or A-level programme.
